Why do we verify your BMI?

Under new UK regulations, any pharmacy or doctor offering weight loss injections such as Wegovy or Mounjaro must independently your height and weight (BMI) to make sure they are prescribing safely. Anyone not independently verifying your BMI is breaking the regulations.

We offer two verification methods, either:

• Video Call: You just need a smartphone or a computer with webcam, scales and a height measurement. Our Pharmacist will verify your height and weight over a short 10-minute video call. Schedule a video call the same or next day you order your treatment.
• Home Visit: One of our nurses will visit you in-person at your home or work. We cover the whole of the UK. They will bring their own equipment and it should take no more than 15 minutes. Appointments are usually scheduled within 5-7 days from ordering your treatment.

Both options are FREE and included in the cost of your treatment.

From ordering to receiving your treatment usually takes between 3-4 days with a Video Call and 5-10 days with a Home Visit

We also offer free on-going support and a free annual blood test monitoring your Kidney, Liver, Pancreas and Cholesterol.

Clinical studies show that people using Saxenda/Nevolat with lifestyle changes lose around 11% of their starting weight after 1 year on average.

How long will one pen last?

This depends on the dose you are on.

• Week 1 (0.6 mg daily): ~30 days per pen

• Week 2 (1.2 mg daily): ~15 days per pen

• Week 3 (1.8 mg daily): ~10 days per pen

• Week 4 (2.4 mg daily): ~7.5 days per pen

• Week 5 onwards (3.0 mg daily): ~6 days per pen

At the full dose, you will use about 5 pens per month. (or cost wise around £230 per month).

What is Nevolat?

Nevolat is the generic version of Saxenda, a prescription medicine for weight loss. Both Nevolat and Saxenda contain the active ingredient liraglutide, which helps regulate appetite and reduce hunger.

• Saxenda was developed by Novo Nordisk.

• After its patent expired in 2024, other companies began producing liraglutide under different brand names.

• Zentiva manufactures Nevolat, which is specifically licensed for weight management, unlike some other liraglutide products that are only licensed for type 2 diabetes.

How does Nevolat work?

• Nevolat contains liraglutide, a medicine that mimics a natural hormone called GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1).

• GLP-1 is released in the gut after eating and helps you feel full.

• By activating GLP-1 receptors in the brain, Nevolat reduces appetite, increases feelings of fullness, and slows digestion, leading to reduced calorie intake and weight loss

How do I use Nevolat?

Nevolat is given as a daily injection under the skin (subcutaneous injection). 

• Injection sites: tummy (at least 5 cm away from belly button), thighs, or upper arms. Rotate injection spots regularly.

• Best practice: inject at the same time each day to build a routine.

• Injection pens: designed for easy self-use, with training provided by your healthcare professional.

Dosage schedule

To help your body adjust, the dose is increased gradually:

• Week 1: 0.6 mg once daily

• Week 2: 1.2 mg once daily

• Week 3: 1.8 mg once daily

• Week 4: 2.4 mg once daily

• Week 5 onwards (maintenance): 3.0 mg once daily

**The dose should not exceed 3.0 mg daily. If you accidentally inject too much, contact your GP immediately.

How do I store Nevolat (Saxenda) Pens?

• Before first use:
  Keep your Nevolat pen in the refrigerator (2°C to 8°C). This is why pens are delivered in temperature-controlled packaging.

• After first use:
  Once you begin using a pen, it can be stored at room temperature (below 30°C) or in the refrigerator.

  • Each pen can be used for up to 1 month after first use.

  • Always keep the pen cap on when not in use to protect it from light.

• Do not freeze:
  Never freeze Nevolat pens, and keep them away from the freezer compartment.

• Check before use:
  Only use the pen if the solution inside is clear, colourless or almost colourless. Do not use if it looks cloudy, coloured, or contains particles.

What are the possible side effects of Nevolat (Generic Saxenda)?

Common side effects

• Nausea

• Vomiting

• Diarrhoea

• Constipation

• Heartburn

• Headache

These are usually mild and improve after the first few weeks.

Tips to manage side effects

• Drink plenty of water or herbal teas.

• Eat small, regular meals.

• Try ginger, peppermint, or fennel tea for nausea.

• Avoid fatty or sugary foods.

• Add fibre (oats, wheat bran, linseed) to your diet.

• Take daily walks.

• Paracetamol may help with headaches.

Serious side effects (stop treatment and seek help immediately)

• Severe, persistent stomach pain (may spread to the back).

• Severe nausea and vomiting.

We monitor your health through a free annual blood test and regular in-person visits or video calls.

Safety advice

• Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding – there is not enough safety data.

• Stop Nevolat at least 1 month before trying to conceive.

• Pregnant women need to gain a certain amount of weight for healthy baby growth and should not use weight-loss medication.
